Playing at the Park

Tonight Kade and I went to the park here in town. When we first got there, a train was going by. Trains are Kade's favorite, so he loved to watch it go down the tracks.
He also loves to slide. This year he is big enough to climb the steps of the slide and come down all by himself.
Look at that smile!
He was bouncing on the teeter totter and wanted Mommy to get on. The problem was when I sat on it, mine went all the way to the ground. I guess they're not made for pregnant moms!
He's definitely all boy! This is what he looked like after 2 hours at the park. He was playing in the rocks and dirt under the swing sets, and then of course he had to wipe the sweat off his face. Needless to say, he had a nice bath when we got home!

ABC's

Here is Kade singing his ABC's. He does really well but thinks L, M, N, O are the letters na, na, na, na! It cracks me up every time.

We're Having a...

Today we had our ultrasound, and I am 19 weeks. The baby looked good! We could see the face, ears, arms, hands, legs, feet, spine, heart, and little boy part! That's right, we're having another little boy! And right now we are calling him Kolt. The name's not definite now, but that's the only one we can agree on at this time.
And here the little guys is! The ultrasound tech told us that she'd only tell us the sex of the baby if she saw the part clearly at least twice. She saw it numerous times, and Jake and I could even see it too. She said she couldn't be 100% sure, but since we all saw it so many times, we're almost positive! When we got there, she asked Kade if he wanted a brother or sister. He said sister, which is what he's been saying the whole time. After the ultrasound she asked what he thought about having a little brother, and he adamantly said no! I think the idea will grow on him. We've talked about how a little brother will play cars, trains, and ball with him, and he seemed to like that! He weighed in at 11 ounces today, and with his size, she estimated my due date at November 10. Since that's only a 3 day difference, my official due date won't change. His heart rate was 146 and sounded very strong! I go back in 3 weeks for my next checkup and should get all the details from the ultrasound then.

Zoo...Again!

Today me, my girl friends, and all the kids went to the Tulsa Zoo while the dads went floating the Illinois River. Here is Kade checking his size with a chimp's.
Kade again!
We had 9 kids with us today! Here they all are posing in the Rain Forest. The kids ranged from 12 years old to 14 months, so we had quite a bunch! Kade did really well. We got to the zoo at 10 am and left around 2:15 pm. It was hot, but not even close to the heat we experienced there a couple weeks ago.
Here some of the kids are posing on the turtle. Kade was in his stroller when we stopped here, and he was asking to ride the turtle! He fits right in with the 4, 5 and 6 year olds. You wouldn't know by looking that he's about 2 years younger or more than all the other kids!
Here we are riding the train at the end of our visit. We could not miss the train! That's Kade's favorite part I think. When we got on Kade said, "All aboard. Choo, choo!" I asked him what his favorite animals were today and he said, "Elephants, fishes and turtles."

18 Week Checkup

Today I went in for my checkup. I am 17 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I have gained a total of 7 pounds so far, not bad! My vitals were all very good. Dr. Stout listened to the baby's heart beat. It was very strong! It was in the 130's-140's range. I have been feeling the baby move around a little. The movements are very faint right now, but it is definitely active already! I go back a week from tomorrow for my ultrasound. I'm excited to see the baby and find out what we're having!

Visit to the Barber Shop

Kade was needing a hair cut pretty bad, so I took him down to the local barber shop today. We had to wait an hour and a half before it was our turn, but Kade did pretty good for having to wait so long. Every time a man would get up from the chair Kade would ask, "Kade's turn?"
Once it was Kade's turn, he ran over to the chair and climbed up like such a big boy! He sat very still the whole time. I was proud of him! I had to take a couple pictures of him looking all grown up.

Waterguns!!

Kade has really enjoyed discovering water guns this summer. His Mema bought him 4 water guns, so he has 2 at her house and 2 at our house.
Here he is playing with the water guns at Mema's house!
More water gun fun!
He also loves riding tricycles too!

Kade & Martin

Yesterday and today I babysat Martin, my friend Rachael's son, while she worked. Kade and Martin had a lot of fun playing together! I managed to get them both to sit still at the same time here! They were relaxing and watching cartoons. While Kade was napping, Rachael picked Martin up. So when Kade woke up, he was looking for Martin. I told him he had to go home, and Kade just started crying! He was so upset that Martin had to leave. The rest of the day he just kept asking "Where's Martin? When's Martin coming back to Kade's house?" So we'll have to have Martin back over to play again soon!

Art Project With Friends

Today Kade and I went over to Rachael's house, so the kids could play together and do an art project. Here is Kade painting a masterpiece! He had a lot of fun.
Martin enjoyed painting the paper covering the table instead of his paper!
Here's Kaya doing a good job!
And Araya, the glitter queen!

First Swim of the Summer

Here is Kade enjoying his pool for the first time this summer. He's really been having a lot of fun in it! The water was pretty cold though. That's why he's only standing.
I told him to sit down in the water for the picture, so it looked like he was swimming! He got right back up!!

Pics by Noel

Noel took these pictures of Kade back in April. They were his Easter pictures. I am just now getting around to scanning them in though. He was 2 1/2 in these pictures. They were taken at Honor Heights Park with live chicks.

Splash Pad

Today I took Kade to the splash pad. He absolutely loved it! This was the first time we went this summer, and he's old enough to really enjoy it now.

After playing in the water we got dried off and went and played at the park right next door.
