Visit to the Barber Shop

Kade was needing a hair cut pretty bad, so I took him down to the local barber shop today. We had to wait an hour and a half before it was our turn, but Kade did pretty good for having to wait so long. Every time a man would get up from the chair Kade would ask, "Kade's turn?"
Once it was Kade's turn, he ran over to the chair and climbed up like such a big boy! He sat very still the whole time. I was proud of him! I had to take a couple pictures of him looking all grown up.

Waterguns!!

Kade has really enjoyed discovering water guns this summer. His Mema bought him 4 water guns, so he has 2 at her house and 2 at our house.
Here he is playing with the water guns at Mema's house!
More water gun fun!
He also loves riding tricycles too!

Kade & Martin

Yesterday and today I babysat Martin, my friend Rachael's son, while she worked. Kade and Martin had a lot of fun playing together! I managed to get them both to sit still at the same time here! They were relaxing and watching cartoons. While Kade was napping, Rachael picked Martin up. So when Kade woke up, he was looking for Martin. I told him he had to go home, and Kade just started crying! He was so upset that Martin had to leave. The rest of the day he just kept asking "Where's Martin? When's Martin coming back to Kade's house?" So we'll have to have Martin back over to play again soon!

Art Project With Friends

Today Kade and I went over to Rachael's house, so the kids could play together and do an art project. Here is Kade painting a masterpiece! He had a lot of fun.
Martin enjoyed painting the paper covering the table instead of his paper!
Here's Kaya doing a good job!
And Araya, the glitter queen!

First Swim of the Summer

Here is Kade enjoying his pool for the first time this summer. He's really been having a lot of fun in it! The water was pretty cold though. That's why he's only standing.
I told him to sit down in the water for the picture, so it looked like he was swimming! He got right back up!!

Pics by Noel

Noel took these pictures of Kade back in April. They were his Easter pictures. I am just now getting around to scanning them in though. He was 2 1/2 in these pictures. They were taken at Honor Heights Park with live chicks.

Splash Pad

Today I took Kade to the splash pad. He absolutely loved it! This was the first time we went this summer, and he's old enough to really enjoy it now.

After playing in the water we got dried off and went and played at the park right next door.

A Day at the Zoo

We took Kade to the zoo today. It was a lot of fun, but it was extremely hot! Kade's favorite thing was riding the train, and his favorite animals are still the monkeys. Here's a picture of him riding the train. He did not want to get off of that train!
Here he is playing in the park at the zoo. Of course he went right for the train toy! We had a very hard time pulling him away from the park as well.
Here he is sliding at the park.
And teeter tottering.
Here Daddy & Kade are standing in front of some snakes. Every time we came to the snakes, Kade would hold his finger up in front of his mouth and say Shhh. I guess he thought we needed to be quiet so the snakes wouldn't get us!
Here are Mommy & Kade in front of our penguin we take a picture with every year. This was towards the end of our day, and you can tell we were very hot, and Kade was not wanting to cooperate for a picture.
Here's the globe that spins around in the water. This is also one of Kade's favorites. He really likes to try and spin it.
Here are Daddy, Kade and our friend Mark in front of the globe. We ran into Mark at the zoo and hadn't seen him since last summer. So it was a nice surprise.

Chocolate Face

Here's what happens when you give a 2 1/2 year old a cup of chocolate pudding! Once he got most of it out, he was sticking his face into the little pudding cup licking it!
He got tired of me taking pictures and said, "Stop Mom. Put the camera away. I mad!"

Kade's New Pets

We decided to let Kade get some fish. He loves to go see fish anywhere, so why not have some at our house? We got 5 red and blue tetra fish. They look pretty much like minnows but are red and blue.
Kade of course is saying cheese during the picture! He's pretty proud of his fish.
You can faintly see some of them in the middle of the tank.

Muscles!

Here are some pictures of Daddy and Kade showing off their muscles. Kade couldn't quite get the hang of it though!

Jumper Jumper

Here are some pictures of Kade playing in the inflatable bounce house at his friend Avery's birthday party.
When we first got there, he didn't want to get into it. But I knew he'd love it if he'd try it.
Once I got him in, I couldn't get him out! He didn't even want to come inside for cake and ice cream. That's unheard of!
Every time he had to get out, he'd immediately start asking me to go get back inside the "jumper jumper"! I thought that was so cute.
He loved it so much that I guess now we'll have to check into renting one for his birthday party!

Daddy's Helper

Here are some pictures of Kade helping Daddy mow the yard. He had so much fun! Jake was actually letting Kade control the arms on the mower, so he could go as fast as he wanted to, with a little help from Dad!

13 Week Checkup

Today I went in for my 13 week checkup. First I saw the nurse. She took my vitals, and everything was fine. I now weigh 127, so I've gained 4 pounds. Then I had to wait for my doctor. Her name is Dr. Stout. I really like her! This was the first time I have met her. She did my exam, fun fun, and then asked me a few questions. She told me that all my blood work had come back well from my last visit, and that I have a blood type of O+. I never knew that before. Then she had me lay back so we could listen to the baby's heart beat. It took her a while to find it. She said the baby was being stubborn! I was kind of starting to worry, but she finally found the heart beat, and it was in the 140's. She said it sounded great. Sounds like a boy to me, but you never know. Kade's heart beat was usually in the 140's at all my checkups with him. I got scheduled back for my next appointment on June 11. I also got to schedule my ultrasound. It is June 19, so we should get to find out the sex of the baby then. I'm real excited about that! I can't wait to go back in a few weeks and hear the heart beat again.
