Kade and His Otter
Has Anyone Noticed?
Just wondering if anyone has noticed that our son loves to eat! I was just looking at my last few posts, and they are all about him eating. It's true! He loves his food.
Grape Jelly
We went to eat at the Boomerang for dinner tonight with Grammy and Papa. We gave Kade a piece of toast, which he normally likes, but he wouldn't eat it. So Grammy thought Kade would eat the toast if she put jelly on it. She put grape jelly all over the toast and instead of Kade eating the toast, he just licked the jelly off of it. He had jelly all over his face from his nose to his chin! It was so funny. He was cracking us up!

Outside
While Kade was at Jeanie's house today he got to play outside, since it was so warm. He had a lot of fun playing with the gazing ball but thought it was a ball he could bounce! His favorite thing to do was go over to the step, jump off, climb back up and do it over and over again! He loves outside and cries when we have to come back in. He is going to be my little outside boy!

Happy Easter
We took Kade Easter egg hunting today at Hatbox field. He was on the field for 1-2 year olds. He threw a huge fit before we started hunting, because he could see all the eggs and wanted down to get them so bad! Then when we let him go, he went right up to an egg, picked it up, and threw it. I guess he thought they were balls! He ended up getting 2 eggs by himself and put them in his basket, and we helped him with the rest.

What Kade Likes and Can Do
So I thought I'd post some things that Kade is doing right now and things he likes. He can say Momma (which he hardly ever says), Dadda, Dad, Booma (Boomer), Bu (Uncle Bryan), dog, down, no-no, whoa, juice (which comes out ssss), and he barks (ru, ru, ru). He waves bye-bye and sometimes say bye. He also gives good kisses. When you tell him to give someone kisses, he leans over and opens his mouth. He really likes dogs and tells them all no-no and down. If he hears a dog bark, he automatically starts barking in his little high pitched voice. He loves to go outside and stands at the front door and cries until you take him out. If he hears us say it is cold outside, he will get his ear warmers out of the drawer by the front door and bring them to you to put on him so he can still go outside! Aren't they so smart? He likes to talk on the phone, although he never says anything. He just listens. Then when we take the phone away to hang up, he cries. He really likes balls and will pretty much throw anything, so watch out! He loves driving cars around the living room and will make engine sounds sometimes. He especially loves any kind of music. He dances to all of it! If it's on TV, or Daddy's IPOD, or the radio while driving down the road, he's always bobbing his head or kicking his feet. It's so cute! He enjoys coloring but would rather eat the markers and likes to read, but I can hardly read any pages because he wants to be in control of turning the pages. He really likes to be in control of everything, and if he doesn't get his way, we're in for a major fit. He's also recently started singing. Last night he crawled up into the rocking chair in his room and just started singing so sweetly. Tonight he just learned how to blow kisses. I was tucking him into bed and told him I was going to blow him a kiss. Then I kissed the palm of my hand and blew it to him. Then he kissed the back of his fist and blew it to me. It is just so amazing what they can pick up in a second! So I'll have to practice some more with him tomorrow where he gets good at it and can do it on command. He now has 14 teeth and at least one more on the way and is eating pretty much everything. His favorites are potatoes any way you fix them, but especially mashed and bread. He also loves the little meat sticks that look like Vienna sausages. So I hope you enjoy the update on Kade. If I forgot something, I will add it later.

Happy Birthday Daddy
We had a family birthday party for Daddy today at Jake's parent's house. Kade especially loved the birthday cupcakes! He just kept saying his famous WHOA! It is so cute when he says that. I love it!!

Off To School
Kade already thinks it's time for him to go to school! I was washing my backpack, so I had it out with the clean laundry. Kade picked it up and was trying to figure out what it was. So I put it on his back to show him how to wear it, and then he just thought he was the coolest thing! He walked all over the house wearing it and did not want me to take it off of him. If it fell off, he brought it right to me so I could put it back on him. He does some of the funniest things!!

Rubbermaid Containers Make Great Toys!
We discovered that Kade really likes to get inside of Rubbermaid containers. We had a few empty ones sitting in the living room the other night, and Kade tipped them over so he could get in them. Bryan was pulling him around the kitchen floor and scared him a little bit. That's why he has a little bit of a shocked face in a couple of the pictures. Also he realized how to take his own shirt off. I couldn't keep a shirt on him that night. I got tired of fighting with him and just left it off!

Kade Riding His Tractor
Recently Kade has decided to try and ride his tractor that is not meant to be ridden on. He carried it into the living room the other night from his room, and I wasn't paying too close of attention to him. When I finally looked up, he was riding on the trailer of his tractor and actually scooting himself across the living room floor. I just couldn't help but crack up laughing! Then a few nights later I was telling my mom about it, and he started doing it again. He's so funny!

New Pictures (not so new actually)
Here are the last professional pictures that Kade had taken. They were his Halloween and Christmas pictures. They were actually taken on November 17, but I'm just getting around to posting them.

Kade has RSV
Every one has been sick at our house lately. First, I had a stomach virus. Then Kade got it. Then Jake and Bryan both got it too. Finally every one seemed to be okay, and Kade was well for only 2 days. Then he started getting a cough. We just thought it was the typical cough, but it got worse by Tuesday. So, Jake took him to the doctor, and we found out he had RSV. They wanted to keep him in the hospital, but since we bought the breathing machine, they let him come home. He was just coughing all the time and having a hard time sleeping. They put him on medication, and we had to do breathing treatments every 4 hours, even during the night. I took him back to the doctor today for a checkup, and everything seems to be getting back to normal. His doctor said to continue with the breathing treatments until he is completely well, but he said that Kade no longer has any junk in his lungs. So we are thankful for that! He is almost himself again. He is 16 months old now and weighs 26 lbs. 3 oz. He is 31 1/4 inches long. Here are a couple pictures of Jake and Kade lounging on the couch when they were both sick with the stomach virus.
Poor little sick baby boy.
