Kade has RSV

Every one has been sick at our house lately. First, I had a stomach virus. Then Kade got it. Then Jake and Bryan both got it too. Finally every one seemed to be okay, and Kade was well for only 2 days. Then he started getting a cough. We just thought it was the typical cough, but it got worse by Tuesday. So, Jake took him to the doctor, and we found out he had RSV. They wanted to keep him in the hospital, but since we bought the breathing machine, they let him come home. He was just coughing all the time and having a hard time sleeping. They put him on medication, and we had to do breathing treatments every 4 hours, even during the night. I took him back to the doctor today for a checkup, and everything seems to be getting back to normal. His doctor said to continue with the breathing treatments until he is completely well, but he said that Kade no longer has any junk in his lungs. So we are thankful for that! He is almost himself again. He is 16 months old now and weighs 26 lbs. 3 oz. He is 31 1/4 inches long. Here are a couple pictures of Jake and Kade lounging on the couch when they were both sick with the stomach virus.

Poor little sick baby boy.

A Big Snow

We had a pretty good snow today. It snowed for several hours this afternoon. Uncle Bryan took Kade outside to see the snow, and here are a couple pictures of them. Kade is making his "O" face. He was just saying "Ohh," the whole time they were outside and was trying to catch the snowflakes. He really liked it! I can't wait until he's old enough to play in the snow and remember it.

Kade's First Haircut

Before haircut

After haircut

Kade had his first hair cut today. He did really well! He didn't want to pose for the pictures, but he did great while getting his hair cut. He sat on my lap, and just let Kandace cut it without any problems. Then I got my hair cut too, and he continued sitting on my lap. He probably wouldn't have sat so still any other day, but he's been sick. And all he wants to do is sit on Mom's lap. He looks so grown up now. I just can't get over how much he looks like a little boy!

So Silly!

Uncle Bryan & Kade were playing together, and Kade had a wet wipe that he kept throwing at Bryan. So Bryan started putting it on Kade's head. Kade thought it was so funny to run around the living room with it on his head. He didn't care if he could see or not!

Papa & Kade

Grammy & Papa came over to visit us, and we were all eating pizza for dinner. And guess who Kade ran straight for? Of course, Papa. Kade definitely knows who to beg from!

Kade at Jeanie's House

Here are some pictures of Kade playing at Jeanie's house while I am at school. One day I came to pick him up, and she told me that he got in the shower and was taking all the bottles out. She got a few pictures of him playing in the shower. He also loves to eat sherbert while he's there.

Helping Mommy

Kade and I were doing laundry, and he decided that he wanted to crawl into the dryer. Here he's trying to empty the lint trap.
Look at the orneriness on that face!
He loves helping me do laundry! That's one of his favorite things to do.

Merry Christmas

This morning we did Christmas at our house, and Santa brought Kade a ride-on zebra. He really likes it! Then we went to my grandparent's house for lunch. Later we went to Jake's parent's house for dinner and to open presents. This was another long day for Kade, but he had a lot of fun. We finally got him to open one gift!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, we went to my dad's house in the afternoon and ate and opened presents. Then we went to Tom & Jeanie's house in the evening and had Christmas with my mom and Bruce too. We went out to eat dinner at the Chinese buffet, and then came back to Tom & Jeanie's house to visit and open gifts. Kade was so worn out afterward, but he had a good time. We couldn't get him to open any presents though.

Kade Feeding Himself

I let Kade feed himself for the first time today. I was feeding him yogurt, and he wanted me to give him the spoon. So I did, and he started trying to put it down in the yogurt container. So I went ahead and let him. He made the biggest mess! But it was worth it. He made me laugh a lot!

Oh, Kade has 11 teeth now. It came in on the 17th. This one's on the bottom, three spaces to the right.

Playing in the Snow

It snowed at our house today. We took Kade out to play for a few minutes, since it was so cold. He really had fun trying to catch all the snowflakes. Hopefully we will get some more so he can really play in it. This snow didn't even stick on the ground.

Wearing Daddy's Houseshoes

We decided to put Jake's house shoes on Kade. At first he didn't mind it too much.
But the longer we left them on him, the madder he got!

My Little Movie Star

Kade was so funny tonight! He found his sunglasses in his toy box and brought them to me wanting me to put them on his face.
Then he was running all around the living room wearing his sunglasses. If they would happen to fall off, he would run right over to me and want me to put them back on his face.
And he was just jabbering the whole time! He would get so mad when they fell off, and he would whine until I put them back on him. Then he was good to go again! He keeps us entertained!

Happy Thanksgiving

Here Kade is enjoying his Thanksgiving pumpkin pie at our second dinner of three. For lunch on Thursday we went to my dad's side of the family, and for dinner on Thursday we went to Jake's parents' house. Then Friday we went to my mom's side of the family for another lunch. So three Thanksgiving dinners altogether! We were stuffed. Kade ate so much on Friday that he made himself sick. But he still wanted more food. That kid can eat more than me sometimes!

Here Kade is playing with his toys at Grandma's house on Thanksgiving.

Kade was getting tickled by Aunt Holly. They were having a lot of fun playing together.

Thanksgiving Greetings from Grammy and Papa

Kade got a Thanksgiving card in the mail today from Grammy and Papa. I gave it to him this evening, and he just carried it around all the rest of the night.
Here he's checking out the card. He just thought he was something else carrying that card around.
He kept walking back and forth through the living room carrying the card and jabbering the whole time. He loved his card!

I've spotted tooth number 10! It's on the top, three spaces to the left. It seems like he is getting new teeth all the time.

Playing At Great-Grandma Jeanie's

Kade goes to his Grandma Jeanie's house once a week when I am at school. Here he is playing at her house.
His favorite thing to do while there is push the dining room chairs around a circle from the dining room to the living room to the kitchen and back to the dining room.
Here Kade is helping Jeanie type on the computer. He loves to play with the keyboard!

Kade Discovering His Halloween Candy

This evening when we got home, Kade found his Halloween bucket and decided he wanted to carry it all around the house. Then he discovered there was candy inside it. That's when he started pulling all the candy out of the bucket and trying to eat it all with the wrappers still on. I was just laughing at him! He would try one sucker, make a face, set it down and go for another sucker. Since they all had the wrappers on them, he didn't find one that he liked. I finally felt sorry for him and let him eat a tootsie roll.

Oh, Kade also has a new tooth. I discovered it on the 11th. It's on the top right three spaces from his front tooth. That makes number 9!

Shopping Spree

Tonight Grandma Carolyn and Aunt Holly stopped by to bring Kade a new stocking cap and mittens. Here Kade is trying them on. He wasn't quite sure about wearing them. After that, Kade, Mommy, Grammy & Papa went to Tulsa shopping for Kade some new winter clothes. He got a lot of really cute things! We were out past Kade's bedtime, but he did really well. He was a very good boy! He really is a good shopper as long as you're moving his stroller.
