Oklahoma Aquarium

Daddy & Kade watching stingrays

Jake and I took Kade to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks today. Kade had a really good time! He loved to watch the fish swimming around in the tanks. He especially liked watching the stingrays and was trying to climb into the tank with them!

Daddy & Kade looking at fish

He would just watch the fish and point at them and say, "Oh!" Then when we moved on to another tank, he would cry to go back to the last one. I tried really hard to get him to say fish. But all he would say was bubbles!

Kade listening to a waterfall

Here we were watching raccoons, and there was a waterfall making a lot of noise right across from them. Kade thought that was neat!

Daddy & Kade watching fish

Here is more fish watching. He was scared of the bigger fish though. I would try to set him up on the ledge around the tank, so he could see better. But he didn't like that. He had a death grip on my arm at all times! One time he was pointing at a fish through the glass, and it swam right up to his finger. He jerked it away real quick and started whining. I guess he thought it was going to "get him".

Kade touching a starfish

Here Kade got to touch a starfish. It was at the bottom of a little pool. I think he liked playing in the water more than anything! He also cried when we left this exhibit too. His favorite things were the stingrays and turtles. One other funny thing, we were looking into a tank with colorful sea urchins, and it had one brown, very plain, fish. What caught Kade's attention? The brown fish. He didn't care one bit about the pretty, colorful sea urchins! We had a lot of fun watching Kade discover new things!

Piano Prodigy

We may just have a little piano player on our hands. Kade loves music and had never seen a piano before. My friend Amanda has one at her house, and while we were there Kade really enjoyed playing it. He did not want to stop playing!

My Water Baby

Kade absolutely loves to swim and be in the water! Here he is in the kiddie pool at a friend's house.
I had a hard time getting Kade out of the water. He will do anything to be outside!

Big Helper

Well it seems that Kade is no longer afraid of the vacuum cleaner, as long as I let him help me. I'm glad about that, because it was getting awfully hard for me to vacuum around trying not to upset Kade.
While I was vacuuming the carpets Kade was "vacuuming" the hard floor. He sure thought he was being a big helper!
I'm so glad that he is eager to help me all the time! I hope it lasts for a while!!

Antiquity Pictures

Here are Kade's antiquity pictures that were taken May 5. I love them!!!
These pictures were hard work for me! It's not hard to get Kade to smile at all, but I'd get him situated on the backdrop, Noel would get one picture in, and he'd run off. So I'd have to chase him down and start all over again. I got a good workout!
So sweet!
I don't know if I'm supposed to touch this, but I'm going to anyway!
He did not want to wear this hat at all, so we had to distract him with a cookie!

Already Chasing Girls

Last night Jake and I went to the track to walk and run. Jake ran while I walked and pushed Kade in the stroller. Once Kade got tired of riding he wanted out to run around. We just let him run wherever he wanted. First he started trying to chase birds on the football field, and then he saw a little girl about 5 years old. He started chasing her instead of the birds! He ended up running a whole lap before he got tired. That's 1/4 mile! He never caught her but had so much fun in the process.

Easter Pictures

Here are Kade's Easter pictures that Noel took. They were taken March 8.
He did so well in these pictures! She didn't have any problems getting him to smile and cooperate.

We brought his own Easter basket, but he liked Noel's yellow basket so much better. His basket was in the picture with him, but he picked it up, carried it off the backdrop and drug the yellow basket back with him. So apparently he really wanted a picture with this basket!
He absolutely loves Easter eggs!
I love this picture! It is so sweet!!

Valentine's Pictures

I finally got a scanner so I can post Kade's Valentine's pictures. These were taken by Noel on February 23. This one's my favorite!
Such a sweet little boy!
Orneriness at work!
He does so well for pictures. I guess he's had enough to be practiced up!

Kade's 1st Road Trip

Kade on the car ride
Friday morning we left our house at 4 a.m. to go on a 15-hour car ride to visit Uncle Bryan at Fort Benning, Georgia for his family weekend pass. We finally arrived in Columbus, GA at 8:30 p.m. Friday night. Kade did really well riding in the car. We were all shocked! He didn't really want to nap too much on the way there but was in a good mood regardless.
Kade on the car ride
We all got up Saturday morning to head the Fort Benning for the family briefing and to pick Bryan up. After the briefing we headed to his barracks where we watched a turning green ceremony for a few of the guys in his company. After that, he was free to go. It was great to see Bryan after 2 1/2 months! Kade wasn't sure what to think about Bryan at first. I think he was afraid of the BCG's.
Mommy & Kade on the car ride
We left Ft. Benning about 10:30 a.m., went back to the hotel to relax for a bit, and then took Bryan to eat lunch. Later the boys all went to see Iron Man, and the girls and Kade went back to the hotel to rest since I was feeling sick. Sunday Bryan got to sleep in, which was one of his requests. We basically just hung out and heard lots of stories from Bryan. We had to have him back on post by 7:30 p.m. Sunday night. Bryan had requested getting to sleep in until 8:00 a.m., getting a slush from Sonic, and eating at Outback Steakhouse. He got to do all of those things, so I think he had a good visit!
Bryan outside his barracks at Fort Benning
Here we are outside Bryan's barracks dropping him off Sunday night. We will be coming back to pick him up in 5 weeks. So it won't be much longer until we can see him again!
Lindsay & Bryan outside barracks at Fort Benning
We headed back home Monday morning at 8:15 a.m. and got back home at 10:30 p.m. Kade slept a lot on the way home. He was worn out! I didn't have any trouble getting him to bed Monday night, and he slept until 10:15 a.m. Tuesday morning! So Kade traveled through 6 states on our trip, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.

Fun at the Park

I took Kade to play at the park this afternoon. Here are a few of the pictures I took while we were there.
Here he is picking a flower for Mommy. He's so sweet! He was so proud to bring me the flower after he picked it.
Here he is driving the race car. I couldn't get him to even look at me. He was having too much fun!
Now he's flying the plane. I think this was his favorite. The plane bounces around, and he really liked that.
He especially liked getting off and on the airplane. Look how big he is. He looks all grown up!
